The Show must go on

21st October, 2018
The week following the Primary School Graduation was extremely busy with preparation for the Form Four graduation at school. This is a huge all day event with parents relatives and all and sundry in attendance. A huge effort was put in by Kevin and his workers to have the extension to the dining area to a stage where the church service beginning the days activities  could be held.
It was great to see all the students gathered together for this special event and very satisfying to see how much use it has been given since

The Service
Following the service, the activities moved to the football oval for the graduation itself. The students
are escorted to the oval in great ceremony. The clouds started rolling across and just as they came onto the oval it started to bucket down. Did they scatter?  No - the show must go on.  They just kept dancing forward. After a while the sun came out  and everything continued  as if there was no drama at all.  Because of the weather, the guest speaker didn't arrive on time but that didn't matter, we just skipped that part of the programme. When it came time for the entertainment section of the activities, the oval was all dry and perfect for the dancing and concert put on by the graduands. The day concluded with lunch at 3.00 pm in the Library.  To thank their teachers , the students gave them a gift , a cake and a goat. Needless to say , the goat was forgotten in all the activities and was tied up near our house. When I came home ,the poor thing was panting and not happy, so I had to take care of it until I could get some of the students to remove it and send it where it belonged. All in a day's activity.   Now it's down to some serious study time for the final Government exams in a couple of weeks.

The Science Class Demonstration is always a hit
The next week, Evina, the Librarian, left to study full  time for two years to complete her Library studies so yours truly has been thrown in the deep end to train the other staff in the computer operation of the Library. I don't claim to be computer savvy and have faced a few challenges as the software programme used here is not the one I'm familiar with. Hakuna Matata, we haven't managed to delete any important information - YET.  I 've had a few long days in the process, especially the one when they decided to wash the floor at 7.00 pm and I had to then wait until 8.30 pm for the floor to dry so I could close  up for the night.
Farewell Evina

One advantage of living fairly close to the Lake is the availability of lovely fresh fish. One of the local fishermen brings them to the school each week.
Compared to the price in Australia, they are really cheap -  never any more than $2.50 for a lovely sized fish. The only draw back is I have to scale, clean and fillet them. But they are very tasty.

Dinner

The week ahead is shaping up  so far to be normal routine with Kevin doing the finishing touches to the building and covered walkway and me contemplating a complete stock take in the library and how that will proceed. Hakuna Matata.
